An experimental investigation of emission performance of heterogenous catalyst jatropha biodiesel using RSM

Tremendous growth in the number of automobiles developed and developing global economies has exorbitantly boosted competition for petroleum products. Petroleum products derived from fossil fuels are predominantly responsible environmental pollution as unburnt hydrocarbon (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), oxides nitrogen (NOx) & dioxide (CO2) emissions released fuel combustion. In view increasing stringent emission norms, present study is concentrated on using Jatropha biodiesel an alternate source to run variable compression ratio (VCR) diesel engine. The characteristics VCR engine have been evaluated under different (CR), operating conditions load pressure injection. this research work, blend B30 (30% 70% diesel) B0 (100% taken For conducting experiments, varied 0 12 Kg, CR 14 18 FIP 180 270 bar per model Response Surface Methodology experiments. experimental investigation showed that use reduces HC CO by about 16.7% 24% correspondingly comparison diesel. However noteworthy rise NOx CO2 rate recorded It shown with enhancing CR, HC&CO decreased significantly however increase observed. Advancing FIP, decreases well tends emissions.
